Scope and Topics
JGSS welcomes studies on various aspects of geographical and spatial studies, including but not limited to human geography, cultural geography, literary geography, geocriticism, spatial humanities, Marxist spatial theories, spatial and ecological aesthetics, spatial criticism, spatial narratives, literary cartography, landscape studies, urban space studies, rural geographical studies, tourism studies, geoarchaeology, geographical information, spatial layout, spatial technologies, as well as pedagogical research and disciplinary development in related fields. JGSS encourages interdisciplinary research, particularly on emerging topics such as the integration of artificial intelligence into creative writing and evaluation. JGSS does not maintain fixed sections or columns; it prioritizes publishing high-quality research across its thematic areas. To promote the dissemination of the latest academic achievements, the journal regularly invites interviews with influential scholars and book reviews on a long-term basis. The format and quality standards of these contributions should be consistent with those of research articles.
JGSS is a fully open access journal that provides immediate and permanent free access to all published content for all users worldwide without requiring any article processing charges (APCs) or subscription fees. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing unrestricted sharing, distribution, and reuse with proper attribution. Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal publishing rights. We support responsible scholarly sharing by permitting authors to deposit preprints in any repository without embargo and postprints immediately upon publication. This sustainable model maintains the highest standards of peer review and editorial quality while eliminating financial barriers to knowledge dissemination.
