International Journal of Geographical and Spatial Studies (JGSS) (Print ISSN: 3105-1294; Online ISSN: 3105-1308) is a peer-reviewed academic journal in the fields of geographical and spatial studies. It is published biannually by HIEP Publishing House, Hong Kong, and features original research articles in both Chinese and English.
JGSS is under the honorary editorship of Professor Robert T. Tally Jr. (Texas State University, USA), a renowned scholar in spatial literary studies, and is co-edited by Professors MEI Xinlin and FANG Ying from Zhejiang University of Technology, China. Scope and Topics
JGSS welcomes research on a wide range of topics in geographical and spatial studies, including human, cultural, and literary geography, geocriticism, spatial humanities, Marxist spatial theories, spatial and ecological aesthetics, spatial criticism, spatial narratives, literary cartography, landscape studies, urban space studies, rural geographical studies, tourism studies, geoarchaeology, geographical information, spatial layout, spatial technologies and related interdisciplinary approaches, as well as pedagogical research and disciplinary development in related fields. The journal is particularly interested in emerging areas such as spatial and ecological aesthetics, and the integration of artificial intelligence into creative and critical practices.
JGSS does not maintain fixed sections and prioritizes the publication of high-quality research across its thematic scope. In addition to research articles, the journal regularly features interviews with leading scholars and reviews of recent publications. These contributions are subject to the same standards of academic quality and rigor as research articles.
