Submission Guidelines

How to Submit

Manuscripts should be submitted by email to: jgss2026@163.com.

Corresponding Author

Each submission should designate one corresponding author, who will be responsible for all communication with the editorial office throughout the submission, peer review, and publication process. For single-authored submissions, this role is assumed by the author. The corresponding author’s email address should appear on the first page of the manuscript.

Language Requirements

The title, author name(s), abstract, keywords, and author biography should be provided in both Chinese and English.

Style and References

JGSS follows APA style in general, with the following modifications: (1) Throughout the manuscript, the names of Chinese, Korean and Japanese authors should be presented with the family name preceding the given name, in accordance with East Asian naming conventions, and the family name should appear in full capital letters. (2) In the References section, authors’ given names should be spelled out in full rather than abbreviated.

Length Requirements

Research articles and interviews should be between 5,500 and 8,500 words in length. Book reviews should be a minimum of 3,000 words. The abstract should be between 150 and 250 words in length, with three to five key words.

Originality and Copyright

All submissions must be original, unpublished, and NOT under consideration elsewhere. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work complies with all applicable copyright laws. By submitting a manuscript, authors grant JGSS the right to publish and disseminate their work electronically via the journal’s website and affiliated digital platforms, including its official WeChat account.

Peer Review Process

JGSS employs a double-blind peer review system, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers. All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial review to assess their relevance and adherence to submission guidelines before being sent for external peer review. The typical review process takes 6–8 weeks.  

Authors may suggest potential reviewers or request the exclusion of specific individuals during submission, but the editorial team reserves the right to make the final decision.  

Manuscript Format Requirements

To ensure consistency and readability, please follow these formatting guidelines:  

• • Title Page: Include the title of the manuscript, an abstract (150–250 words), and 4–6 keywords. The corresponding author’s contact email should be provided on this page.  

• • Font and Spacing: Use Times New Roman in English, 12-point font, and Line spacing: 1.2 times. 

• • Margins: Set margins to 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.

• Headings and Subheadings: Follow APA format for all headings and subheadings.  

• • Figures and Tables: Embed figures and tables in the manuscript text near their first citation. Each figure/table must have a descriptive title and caption. High-resolution images should also be submitted as separate files (JPEG or PNG).  

• • Appendices and Supplementary Materials: If applicable, include appendices at the end of the manuscript. Label them clearly (e.g., Appendix A, Appendix B). Supplementary materials can be submitted as separate files.  

• • Anonymity: To maintain a double-blind review, authors must remove all identifying information from the manuscript text and file properties. Ensure that the title page is submitted as a separate document to preserve anonymity.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

This journal does not levy any Article Processing Charge (APC) for the publication of any manuscript. All publication-related processes, including peer review management, manuscript editing, typesetting, online hosting, and DOI assignment, are provided free of charge to authors. There are no hidden fees of any kind associated with manuscript submission, revision, acceptance, or publication in this journal. Authors are not required to pay any charges for the open access dissemination of their published articles.
