Topics and Scope
JGSS does not maintain fixed sections but remain open to special-themed sections within its scope. In addition to research articles, the journal regularly features interviews with leading scholars and reviews of recent publications.
JGSS welcomes research on a wide range of topics in geographical and spatial studies, including human, cultural, and literary geography, geocriticism, spatial humanities, Marxist spatial theories, spatial and ecological aesthetics, spatial criticism, spatial narratives, literary cartography, landscape studies, urban space studies, rural geographical studies, tourism studies, geoarchaeology, geographical information, spatial layout, spatial technologies and related interdisciplinary approaches, as well as pedagogical research and disciplinary development in related fields.

Corresponding Author
Each submission should designate one corresponding author, who will be responsible for all communication with the editorial office throughout the submission, peer review, and publication process. For single-authored submissions, this role is assumed by the author. The corresponding author’s email address should appear on the first page of the manuscript.
Style and References
JGSS follows APA style in general, with the following modifications: (1) Throughout the manuscript, the names of Chinese, Korean and Japanese authors should be presented with the family name preceding the given name, in accordance with East Asian naming conventions, and the family name should appear in full capital letters. (2) In the References section, authors’ given names should be spelled out in full rather than abbreviated.
Length Requirements
Research articles and interviews should be between 5,500 and 8,500 words (8000 to 16,000 Chinese characters) in length . Book reviews should be a minimum of 3,000 words, or 5,000 Chinese characters. The abstract should be between 150 and 250 words in length, with three to five key words.
